Editing Internet Shortcut (.url) file's - MysteryFCM

To edit Internet Shortcut's, you will need to do one of two things.

1. Edit the registry

Start > Run, type: regedit

Locate the following key;

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\InternetShortcut\Shell

Right click it and select;

New > Key

Label it "Edit"

Right click the new key and select "New" > "Key"

Name this one "Command"

Right click "Default" in the RIGHT pane, and select "Modify", then in the box add;

notepad %1

2. Download the .reg file's I created to do it for you. (url_fix.zip)

Once downloaded, extract the relevant file for your version of Windows, then right click it and select Merge. You shall then see a new menu item on your right click menu the next time you right click an internet shortcut (.url file).
