Pop-unders in IE? - MysteryFCM

There was discussion recently on the Avant Browser forum concerning pop-unders that opened in IE, even though the popup blocker in Avant was enabled.

Whilst at present, the only sure fire way to prevent these is to disable scripts, doing so (atleast in my case) is out of the question as I work with scripts myself.

The following tip will not prevent the pop-unders from occuring. However, it will prevent the pop-unders contents from displaying (good enough for me).

If you are not running a firewall, I suggest you get one.

If you have a firewall, all you need to do is open up the rules editor (assuming your firewall has one), and create a rule that permenantely prevents Internet Explorer from accessing the web.

Avant Browser will still work when this rule is active. All you will see when a pop-under occurs, is a small window with the "Page not found" error page in it.
